Situated just across from the Paihia wharf, Haka Lodge Paihia is an upmarket backpacker lodge and your home-away-from-home in the ‘Winterless North’.
Located in central Paihia, the largest township in the Bay of Islands, with easy access to the best of town as well as unobstructed views of the shimmering waters across the Bay.
Upmarket backpacker dorm rooms for those travelling on a budget, and en-suite private rooms for those travellers who like their own space and privacy. All accommodation has linen provided.
Our guests make the most of our unlimited free Wi-Fi and spacious lounge and sparkly kitchen with top of the line facilities.

Shared Room Exceptions for Unaccompanied Under 18’s in Groups:
Unaccompanied under 18’s are not allowed to stay in shared rooms, unless they are part of a group that has booked out the entire shared room.
The group leader must provide the required documentation to Haka House.

In times of uncertainty and your peace of mind, we recommend you select a flexible rate with free cancellation. If your plans change, you can always cancel free of charge until the cancellation expires.
We require valid ID on check-in in the form of a driver’s licence or passport.
All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card at the time of booking.
We pre-authorize all credit cards on the day of booking to check for validity and sufficiency of funds.
Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and dogs for those who are disabled, are permitted. Otherwise, we have a strict no pets policy.
Individuals under the age of 18 can only stay at the Hostel when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in the same room.
The room must be private. No Dorm Rooms allowed.
Towels are included for private rooms, for shared dorms, they can be rented at reception, or you can bring your own.
Lockers for the shared dorms can be bought at the front desk.
