Aloha and welcome to the Big Island of Hawaii!

The hostel offers 7 bedrooms, free Wi-Fi, a tiki bar area with a TV, a star gazing tower and is located in the middle of a cold lava flow.

You can prepare your meals in our fully equipped kitchen and enjoy it in the tiki bar area looking out to sea!
Coffee, tea, drinking water and pancake mix are provided for breakfast.

Our hostel is a colourful, artistic place that welcomes people from all over the world to get inspired by the amazing landscape and the energy created by the fusion of lava and the ocean.

We provide towels, bed sheets, blankets and pillows.
Free parking in front of the building.
A car is recommended here to get around the Island and make the best out of your vacation.

Social and fun

The combination of the community and the natural environment here on the Big Island is the perfect recipe to broaden your view and become re-inspired.

Prepare your meals using the local produce in the shared kitchen space.
It is equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker and blender.
You have access to all the kitchenware and shelves.

We have a common area where we encourage quiet hours for work, study or relaxation. Enjoy your breakfast with an ocean-view sunrise.

Our Tiki bar invites you to do yoga, watch movies, dance, mingle and maybe enjoy a homemade glass of Open Gate’s kombucha or pizza!
